hi navin ;

extending / cannot be performed by vxresize since / volume has to be continious. you need to take backup of OS by ignite and restore it . at the restore phase define new / size . but / size should be stable and you dont have to extend it. instead of extending, finding unnecessary files and moving them away from / will solve your problem.

Hello ,
Actually i will have to shrink the / filesystem so that the space will be used for some other file system - not sure ...some how the / was configured as so large in this.
