Web Server Suite
I am installing Joomla, a Content Management app, on HP-UX 11i. I am upgrading my Web Server Suite to be in support with PHP 5. I have downloaded the depot file and need to know that PHP has been compiled with MySQL, XML, and zlib support. Is there a way to verify this is the case before installing? Or must I compile my own version of PHP?

Re: Web Server Suite
Hi Thomas,
I'm pretty sure that the latest version of the HPWS comes with PHP and MySQL support pre-compiled into the software depot (unsure about zlib compression).
Check the release notes for the download. The easiest way to check the PHP config might be to just install the depot, and then create a PHP file in the htdocs directory (or whatever your document root is set to) with the following contents...
phpinfo();
phpinfo(INFO_MODULES);
?>
Just browse to that URL and you should get all the info you need.

Re: Web Server Suite
I believe the pre-compiled version of the suite has full PHP 5 support.
I'm kind of shocked, because on this issue HP is way out in front of Red Hat who have not given a date on mysql 5. Thats fine with me I have production environments that use mysql 4.x
The reason I'm amazed is it takes two years to get a sendmail release and now we're on the bleeding edge with PHP 5 and mysql 5.
Back to the point, it should work and there should be no eed to compile php 5.
