What do you want for Christmas..

well it's not far away..

I want not to be on call to start off with, then a trip to Hawaii, mixed with a few cold beers, lots of TV and perhaps a playstation 2.

What's santa's email btw?

Later,
Bill

Re: What do you want for Christmas..

Hey Bill what about a never emptying Guiness bottle or something on that theme ?

I too would like a few days off at Xmas ....
Bob (my manager) I hope you are listening.

I'd also be happy with a lorry load of beer and relocation to a new HP Response Centre in the Caribbean.

Santa's e mail can be found at
santaclaus.com.

Would like a week, of no pages, calls, or breakdowns, and for someone to start a beer delivery service, so i wont have to head out for it in the snow, that way my wife can have a break, heehee.

Re: What do you want for Christmas..

What I want and what I get are light years apart.

I gave up wanting that raise after 911 happened, I am just happy to have a job. Even though I am on call 24X7X365, I do not get many calls as the only things that break is the hardware (very infrequently) or the users doing stuff that they should have known was stupid.

What I would like and it does not exist yet but maybe next year, is a combo cell phone/pda/gps with maps, not just Lat-lon/terminal which operates for at least a week without a recharge.

Otherwise, I have to buy my own toys as only I know exactly what I want and I only have myself to kick if I don't get what I want.

FYI, that Walston radio tracking system for rockets will be in my hands by Turkey day (early Xmas present).

The only other thing I could ask for is the have more people get into Experimental Amateur High Power Rocketry, so I can sell stuff to them.

Re: What do you want for Christmas..

Unfortunately, most things I want are either
illegal, immoral, or fattening. More often also too expensive.
However I will settle for Peace on Earth, and Goodwill to all mankind, while I spend two weeks in Spain with a few bottles of good Spanish wine :-]

How about a brand new job with a high pay and lots of interesting/challenging work. Yeah, it doesn't sound like much, but you'd be surprised how many people have this on their christmas list.

Re: What do you want for Christmas..

I am with bill .. beer and playstaion 2. But I was thinking about this the other day this is crazy but here it goes. Wouldnt it be cool to have a role playting video called "Sys. Admin" Where you start off at an entry level job and work your way up by solving issues and learning more things. And one thing would be for example if you forget to do your backup and your system crashes and dont have a backup you get demoted. wouldnt that be cool?

What about a 1week seminar where you cannot be disturbed on "wine tasting and choosing the suitable dishes to accompany your favorite bottle"?
2 weeks - My bosses would desagree...

Hey Bill,

Stability. Humility. Love. Peace. Generosity. Affection. Understanding. Thoughtfulness. Spirituality.

But, since I can't have those, I'd like a monkey.

Re: What do you want for Christmas..

I agree with Tim,
a monkey sounds helpful. (I think we've had that discussion before).
If a monkey isn't possible, I'll just take a raise.
Ye who thinks he has a lot to say, probably shouldn't.

Hey Bill,
Cheers.... Hicccup if it's not too early.... I've managed a two week vacation on the Gold Coast with surf, sun, fun and kids.... I'll take kids anyday to a mobile phone.... And if I don't get another opportunity merry xmas and safe new year to all of you.... And sometimes dreams come true... But I don't know about a quiet pager or that porsche under the xmas tree.
Cheers

Being that's it's my birthday, yes, I'm a Christmas baby, and I'll be a big 41, I'd like to wake up with the feeling that the world is a bit safer against cowardly terrorists.

Kinda hard to come up with anything after Sachin's. Hope Santa can deliver!
