Hi,

First of it may be usefull to check if this is a swapping issue:

#vmstat -dnS 6 100

The above command will show you (every 6 seconds) how many processes are swapped (w processes), how many are blocked for resources (b processes) and those who a running normaly (r processes). Furthermore, pay attention at consitantly high values for po (average greater than 15). High po values are means you may need more memory...
