Last message of kernel is :

Re: workstation boot hang

Shalom,

It is hanging at a fairly early stage.

I would suggest booting from the OS install media an checking that ll disks and hardware are working.

There is a recovery mode option that might restore the system to normal operation.

Re: workstation boot hang

Perhaps booting into single user mode might shed some light on it.

Interrupt the boot at PDC. At the main menu, type 'bo pri', (boot from the primary boot device. When it asks 'interact with IPL?', respond 'y'. At the ISL prompt, type 'hpux -is'

Hope this helps.

Re: workstation boot hang

even booting in single user didn't help
may be a disk problem ?

Re: workstation boot hang

Generally, if there's a disk problem, the system would not 'hang'. It would simply not boot with some sort of error, (LIF error, perhaps.)

Is there an alternate boot disk in this system??

Thx!!
