Hello
I have a 64Kbps link with a source. I am downloading files of size between 500KB-2MB. I know that the size of the files is large but is there any way to reduce the download time. Normally the download takes from 3mins for 500KB to 10 mins for 2Mb.

From the source, have you tried gzipping them? "gzip -9 filename"

This sound slow for a 64kbs line, with the line running at half speed then a 2 Meg file should take approx one min.

Get the line checked also check system setting at both ends.

As already mentioned zip it up at the scource server.
