X -query
I have to open an X session on a HP-UX console.
I try with X -ac -query
With raflection X in Windows i can set a parameter where the output have to go, and so i put the natted address and that works.
Somebody know what i can do with HP-UX?
Tanks....

Re: X -query
My problem is when i try to open an X session
from a hp-ux console to a sun solaris console.
The problem is generated only when between these hosts there is one NAT ( network address translator ).
In Windows ( with reflection X ) i skeep this
problem setting reflection on -->Setting-->Networks Settings and defleg Autodetect ...
and i put the IP Address ( traslated IP )of my PC.
How can i do the same with hp-ux ( if is possible )?
Tanks a lot.
P.S.
If there isn' t a NAT everything goes OK

Re: X -query
If someone could confirm this ? then maybe the configuration of the NAT system is at fault here.
fyi I know of no hpux / X utility similar to RX's autodetect utility.
I guess the only other way to trouble shoot this is to examine the xdmcp packets ... a nettl trace and a look at the Xprotocol -details available from MIT website might help ?

Re: X -query
that the ip address ( translated IP ) is in the mit-magic-cookie variable.
then:
My IP is: 192.168.128.xxx ( Win )
My Translated IP is: 10.1.203.xxx ( Nat -> Win)
Sun remote host is : 172.16.97.xxx (Sun)
When an X session is open on sun netstat -a | grep .6000 geve me a list of open session with IP 10.1.203.xxx.6000
I think that reflection during the SYNcronizzation put in the mit-magic-cookie the translated IP.
Anybody knows if this i suppose is correct, and how can i put mi IP translated on the mit-magic-cookie and force to use that,
on HP-UX sistem?
Sorry for my english.
Tanks to all.

Re: X -query
# Dtlogin*authorize: False
enabled by default under hpux 11.X .... it might be worthwhile disabling it or vice versa : X will need to be restarted though for this to take effect ....
