X-server cannot be started

I have just installed 10.20 on a b180 workstation..when trying to boot up it states "The X-server can not be started on display hostname:0..."

"Suspending HP VUE"

Any ideas on how to solve this ??

Re: X-server cannot be started

check /var/vue/Xerrors

confirm vuelogin running and what run-level is default.

confirm you are wanting vue not cde, if not replace vue or vuelogin above with dt or dtlogin etc ...

run /usr/contrib/bin/X11 dr_dt or dr_vue which evers appropriate : act on warning / errors or post here ....

/sbin/init 2
/usr/bin/X11/X :0

result ? any errors to screen or standard out ...

report back results ...

Re: X-server cannot be started

Hi

do ns shown above also run

/usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_vue

I expect that your name resolution is bad or the networking is down.

nslookup name
nslookup ip

The name and ip of the machine should give the same results.
