X-server problem
Dear gurus,
when i connect to d-380 SERVER(hp UNIX 10.20)
frommy x-manger x windows client from windows xp machine ,i get the following error at /var/dt/Xerrors of the server,please suggest what may be the cause of the porblem
error from /var/dt/Xerrors
error (pid 2694): Server open attempt #0 failed for 21.1.2.58, gi
ving up
dtlogin process is working and i also enabled /usr/st/bin/dtconfig -e option .I have getting the machine in the xdmcp browser but it is not connecting

Dear Baiju,
Might be a name resolution problem
Run this script and see what errors you are getting
/usr/contrib/bin/X11/dr_dt
Also check the logs:
~/.dt/errorlog
~/.dt/startlog
( ~ is the home directory)
Hope your network settings are correct.
Or else you try from another pc/workstation and see how it responds.

To be certain try the same connect by numeric ip address, not number.
If it works its name resolution. If it does not, its not.
Note that commonly used VLAN network configurations do not permit the use of xdmcp broadcaset, you may need to directly connect to the IP address of the box.
