x11start error
Can someone point me in the right direction?
here is the error:
X server: Error in /etc/X11/X0screens (line 614)
Device name invalid or missing after keyword "Screen".
X server: Will try default "/dev/crt"
Failure to open default device file `/dev/crt`.
Please either specify the proper device filename in
your /etc/X11/X0screens file or fix `/dev/crt`. This filename is either
non-existent or is not a character special file.
Fatal server error:
giving up.
/usr/contrib/bin/X11/xinit: Connection refused (errno 239): unable to connect
to X server
/usr/contrib/bin/X11/xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.

Wrong entries in X10screens is probably what's happening as the
/sbin/init.d/xvfb script only check keywords related to virtual framebuffer mode
before choosing or not to recreate this file.
Make a backup copy of the file and then leave take out keywords till you have only these:
ServerOptions
ServerMode XVfb
The documentation that can help are the text file:
/usr/lib/X11/Xserver/info/screens/hp and online man page Xserver(1)

What h/w is this running on ? If this is a workstation a rmsf /dev/*crt* followed by an
insf -evd framebuf may help.
If not detail ioscan -fnC graphics along with your h/w setup.
Is this relating to Oracle forms and Xvfb as said above ?
