Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key

Hello.

Have two hpux 11.11 boxes. Am logged in with root.

From box 1 ssh to the other box.

ssh -X root@<server>

enter password and logs in fine.

type xnmevents & and get the following:

Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
Error: Can't open display: 10.5.25.51:10.0
Error: Couldn't find per display information

usually xnmevents would open.

NOTE: this works fine from a different box

can anyone shed some light on this?

Import/authorize your cookie with xauth

or there may be a conflicting old cookie

man xauth for more details.

Or on 10.5.25.51, you need to do: xhost server
