zero length files
Hi,
If anyone is aware of a fix/patch for this symptom pls let me know:
Occasionally(cannot be reproduced on demand) a cp of a zero byte file from a nfs mounted path hangs. O/S is 11.11.

Re: zero length files
NFS and networking should always be kept up to date on patches. For each problem you can see, there may be a dozen others that are causing problems that you haven't found yet. NFS is one of many filesystems so keeping the kernel patches up to date is also important to solve problems like this. I did not see a specific problem like this in the patch database but if you install the HWE and QPK patch bundles (something from 2004) the problem should disappear. I would also look at the HP-UX NFS book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0130428167/qid=1089254105/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-7134947-8549630?v=glance&s=books&n=507846
