						Hi all,
I am receving a test file which contains some chineese in ASCII and I need to convert it into UTF-8 format.
We run a sql loader to load the data into the data base. After I load the data , I see a junk values or some funny characters instead of chinese charaters.
The file is droped in our unix m/c.
Can you please help me to find a proper character set to be used in the control file le or how do I convert ASCII to UTF -8 while ftp ing the file.
Its a critical issue. Eagerly waiting for u'r reply.
Regards
Suchitra

						hi suchitra,
To load the data, use the control files's
CHARACTERSET clause to specify the character set.
Oracle8i/9i/10g Utilities Guide has more info on the clause.
hope this helps!
kind regards
