Back up server
We just set up FC4 server on DL380 G3 (running 3 software servers:ftpD,Httpd,SSHd) and we want to connect another one as a back up for this.If one fails another can start up straight away.I have never done this before could please anyone shed some light on this what aspects i would have to go through and what things we need to take in account to make sure setup is succesfull.much obliged.thanks

read about Linux HA (High Availability) project s on net, one most popular site is: www.linux-ha.org . briefly speaking, you will need heartbeat installed in a system, and both the servers have replicated backups are continuously monitored by heartbeat. you will have a virtual IP configured for both the servers, and if one server fails, heartbeat will assign this IP to another server.

This uses a ethernet and/or serial conection between servers to monitor the state of the system. If a server fails, the other takes the control of the services.
