						Greeting,
I have several blade servers, BL20p G3, with RedHat Linux AS4 update1. When I use "ifconfig -a" to present the NIC's information, I get the message as follows:
dev2130 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:FE:87:11:6A
BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
Interrupt:217 Memory:fdfd0000-fdfe0000
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:15:60:A7:C7:45
inet addr:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Bcast:192.168.32.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::215:60ff:fea7:c745/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:23 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:14 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:4211 (4.1 KiB) TX bytes:3971 (3.8 KiB)
Interrupt:225 Memory:fdef0000-fdf00000
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:FE:87:C0:F0
inet addr:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Bcast:172.16.22.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: fe80::218:feff:fe87:c0f0/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
The NIC 1~3 can present correct name like eth0, eth1, eth2, however the fourth NIC can't. It alwasy show "devXXXX".
Is there a way of dealing with this issue?
NIC adapter:HP NC7781 Gigabit Server Adapter
driver_name:bcm5700
Driver_Version:8.3.17c
