Boot Itanium from CD with Ghost

Can anybody supply me with an answer or a solution for booting my Itanium Server from a CD to start Ghost?
Or, to make it simpeler, just; boot my Itanium server from a CD (that I put together)?
Pls. update with your ideas!

Shalom JAR,

My opinion is build your own CD. Itanium is probably not supported by Ghost. Is this an HP rx series server?

Re: Boot Itanium from CD with Ghost

Hi there Steven,

Thank you for you reply!
This is a rx-1620.
We've build our own CD, just cannot get the rx to boot from it. Could it be it requirs some kind of more specific CDFS? Now used is NTFS. Are the hackable ISO-images?

Thanx,
kindest regards,

Hi there.
Did you try to boot the system from the original disks and then start Ghost ?

Ubuntu is supported on ia64. I am running it on my zx2000. The LiveCD works, too:

I don't understand what you mean by booting from a CD that you put together. What are you trying to accomplish?

Re: Boot Itanium from CD with Ghost

Jan, I read the thread again and think I understand your problem. The HP Integrity servers require a small FAT32 partition for booting. Do you have the Linux Enablement Kit? http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=ux-22935-2
