Cannot detect wireless network adaptor

I have a HP6710b laptop and I am trying to partition the hardisk and install Fedora linux on one partition keep the Windows Vista intact on the other.
The installation was successful, but I am not able to connect to my wireless router as I cant seem to activate the wireless LAN option through my Linux. I can access wireless via my Windows.
Please help.
