The cciss error is from the smart array controller, if it is a one time thing then cannot do much but if it is been happening quite often then you can talk to HP and see what they have to tell,they can suggest to get them replaced.

you could have a quick look in sautil aswell to check the config and disk info there

Solutionin order to monitor your smart array configuration you have to run cpqacuxe, and then connect to http://127.0.0.1:2301.

You can also monitor the sa array offline, booting from smart start cd.
Anyway I think that your problem is not related to the smart array, but to the tape. Did you connect it to the smart array? Please check it: I don't think it is a supported config.
