Compressed Filesystem Support on RHEL?

Planning to do a Proof of Concept build of a NAS/Fileserver out of RHEL.

Does anyone know if there are already fully supported compression (on the fly) on the various Filesystems?

Looking at ZFS but the fact that it is still FUSE (even though stable and "fast enough") is a bit disconcerting.

We've other options -- like FreeNAS or OpenFiler but that is just unthinkable right now.

TIA!

I'm not aware of any support for such a fs in RH. btrfs does have zlib support, but it's not in RH yet.

Well waddaya know.. the rumours are actually true. LLNL finally makes it official - Native ZFS for Linux - not likely to make it to mainline though BUT at least it is not FUSE.
