CPQFC linux driver - compaq raid array 4100
i have installed redhat advanced server 3.0 update 3 but when i try to load cpqfc module i get a random crash.
Reading cpqfc.Readme i have seen this driver is compatible only with kernel 2.2.12-32 and 2.2.14-5.
At this link http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17246.html
there are ProLiant Linux driver for 64-bit/66MHz Fibre Channel Host Adapter for Red Hat Linux Advanced Server 2.1
RedHat AS 3.0 is not supported ?
Thanks in advance

Re: CPQFC linux driver - compaq raid array 4100
You are right. The driver does not work with the kernel in RH AS 3. There are major differences between AS 2 and AS 3. You need to get a newer driver from compag that is certified with RH AS 3.

Re: CPQFC linux driver - compaq raid array 4100
After a little search, I could not even find any newer versions of cpqfc driver that could support 2.4 kernel in AS 3. Thus, there are two solutions left:
1. build a cpqfc driver for 2.4 kernel ( not recommended)
2. get a different card, say from Emulex. I have a quite few systems of AS 3.3 with Emulex cards, and they work well.
Hope this is helpful.
