Does anyone run Debian on one of these?
My immediate problem is that the Debian 3.1 installer doesn't recognise the SATA hard drive in 'enhanced' mode. (Ubuntu does find the disk, but fails to complete the installation).
Any ideas?
regards
Chris

Re: Debian on Proliant ML110 G3?
Shalom Chris,
Broken record here: Have you used the CD that comes with all Proliant servers to prepare the disk. Its bootable and you boot into it, prepare the disk. Then you are good to go to install Linux.
If there was no CD with the server, it can be downloaded and burned.

Re: Debian on Proliant ML110 G3?
Thanks for your reply, Steven
My apologies for having asked a tedious newbie question, but I couldn't find any FAQs or a way of searching these forums.
There was no CD with the server, and looking on the downloads section of the HP site I couldn't find a downloadable version either.
And I'm not sure what you mean by 'prepare the disk' before installing Linux.
Anyway, I've found a Debian installer with the necessary ICH7R drivers here: http://kmuto.jp/debian/d-i/2.6.15/sarge-custom-0206.iso, and that has allowed me to install Debian with no further problems (so far...)
regards
