depmod error on netfilter?
I am running kernel 2.4.18 and I am getting this error via depmod: "
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/net/ipv4/ip_gre.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/net/ipv4/ipip.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/ipt_REJECT.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/iptable_filter.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.18/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/iptable_nat.o
".
I am trying to prepare this box as a firewall box. I am planning to put this btw the router and our switch. So any help is or suggestion is welcome. Thanks.

Re: depmod error on netfilter?
Hi,
There are 2 possibility of this "Unresolved symbols" error.
1. You failed to re-compile the kernel.
Did you do "# rm -rf /lib/modules/2.4.18" before you re-compile the kernel?
Before you #make modules_install,
you have better clear /lib/modules/.
2. Something wrong with the kernel source.
Why don't you try the driver into kernel instead of module?
Good luck.
