dhcp and sendmail

All,
I've configured dhcpd on RH 7.2 server. I can boot from windoze using this service, but I am having problem sending or recieving mail because of the reverse ip address can not be resolved. The ips does not resolve, because the DCP ips are not in DNS. To solve this, I can put all of them in DNS. However, is there a way to get it to work with DHCP without actually entering the whole range of DHCP ip into DNS? Thanks.

Re: dhcp and sendmail

Hi

My advice is, use Dynamic DNS service.

ex. www.dyndns.org
Go to the site and get your hostname & tool to update the IP.

Re: dhcp and sendmail

Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not what I am looking for. I want it to be something I have control in, which means no outside service.

Re: dhcp and sendmail

Reverse IP cannot be resolved....

Which IP -- that of the server running sendmail or of the clients?
