Dl320 does not start with alternative SCSI controller

Hy!

I have had some parity errors on my SCSI drive.

Just to verify that my SCSI Controller is the problem I would like to install an alternative SCSI Controller (as the HDDs were checked and OK).

I inserted a Symbios SYM53c895 SCSI controller but the system does not start anymore.

Just keeps hanging after "Symbios, INc. PCI boot rom successfully installed!"

What to do next ? Any ideas ?

Having my earlier reply deleted.

Shalom saavik,

Very interesting.

The controller you use is very generic and should be compatible with many systems.

It could be a bad alternate card.

More likely its not compatible with your system.

You may be able to do a flash bios update on the card and try again. Same thing for the system itself, which I'm not very familiar with.
