Those onboard NIC's do fail once in a while.
You might want to try bringing the BIOS back to defaults, booting your system and see if it helps.

SolutionI had the same problem on my DL380R03.
Problem occured after installing service pack from HP.
I solved the problem with updating Firmware of the two NICs. Don├В┬┤t know from where I got this files. Check out the HP - Web Site!

The error and his solution was described in customer advisory, document number CO030310_CW02.
Solution: Update the Boot Code Firmware to the following versions by downloading the NCx7xx Firmware Update And Flash Utility from HP.
