dv6088ea and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Any one that know how to get a 3945 wirless card working on a dv6088ea, as it seems it's not found by the os (linux) so i guess it might not be in the BIOS hw whitelist or something like that.
Running a 2.6.19.1 kernel

Re: dv6088ea and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Shalom,
You might wish to share us which distribution of Linux you are using, as the kernel you are providing is not immediatly known to me. The individual vendors put in hardware support btw.
I was under the impression that later releases, such as Fedora Core 6 or RH 4 update 4 supported this hardware.
It may be a bad card. Have you tested it on a Live CD distribution or G-d forbid windows?
Your system should have come with a hardware diagnostics cd which can rule out hardware failure as a possible cause.

Re: dv6088ea and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Hi.
The distro is Gentoo, and the driver is a out of tree driver, but the driver compiles fine, and loads ok, but doesn't detect the card.
Didn't recive any cd with the machine, and don't have any Windows that i can use, except for the recovery cd's i created once.
The driver is avalible from:
http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/
http://www.bughost.org/ipw3945/

Re: dv6088ea and Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
You are missing ipw3945d and ipw3945-ucode.
There is a kernel module out there for Fedora I had this done to a science on a Dell Latitude D620 with the same internal card. Check around I'm sure someone has compiled a kernel module for Gentoo. Don't forget though that you will still need the ipw3945d as well as the ipw3945-ucode.
