Re: error creating the redhat cluster...
Which version of RHEL are you using ?
Have you gone through the documentation present in
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/csgfs/
-> This talks about configuring and managing the Red Hat Cluster

Re: error creating the redhat cluster...
Could you please paste the cluster.conf file from both the nodes. Also, /var/log/messages (attach it if possible).
Also, what is the RHEL version you using
cat /etc/issue
cat /etc/redhat-release

Re: error creating the redhat cluster...
In the /var/log/messages I do see the below messages of some concern.
Jun 9 22:24:16 usplsvulx181 ccsd[7503]: Unable to parse /etc/cluster/cluster.conf
Jun 9 22:24:16 usplsvulx181 ccsd[7503]: Searching cluster for valid copy.
Jun 9 22:24:17 usplsvulx181 ccsd[7503]: The appropriate config file could not be loaded.
Jun 9 22:24:17 usplsvulx181 ccsd[7503]: Error while processing connect: No data available
Also, in case of VMWare the fence configuration is different when compared to two standalone servers. I suggest you to use the system-config-cluster utility to configure the cluster. In case you are using DRAC as a fence device then there please refer the link below:

Also, the document link below gives a complete insight on the Red Hat Cluster configuration
