fedora sound compatibility
I have been using fedora 3 on a hp pavilion 4535. It doesn't have a real sound card and no third party sound driver is available for the chipset.
Now I am considering getting one of these systems and put Fedora 7 on it. Would I encounter the same problem?
HP HP Pavilion a6120n
Compaq Compaq sr5152nx
HP HP Pavilion a6220n
HP HP Pavilion a6200n
Compaq Compaq Presario sr5262nx
Thanks
cch

Re: fedora sound compatibility
These consumer PCs aren't very good at listing their specifications but with a little inference you can find out what you want. For example, the first unit on your list has a Realtek High Definition chip in it that has common support for it available in Linux. How do I know? Check the tech support link and download drivers, even though these are Windows drivers, the sound one is clearly labeled for Realtek.
