Fibreutils support matrix
Dear all,
Following is the environment:
Hardware
Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp. ISP2432-based 4Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express HBA (rev 02)
Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp. ISP2432-based 4Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express HBA (rev 02)
Driver version:
8.02.00-k5-rhel5.2-04 - Output of modinfo on qla2xxx
Firmware:
4.03.02 [IP] [Multi-ID]
Product Name: ProLiant BL460c G1
Redhat release
2.6.18-92.el5
Architecture
x86_64
I'm using the linux inbox driver and planning to have native multipathing(DM-Multipath). Most importantly i would like to have storage addition witout a reboot. Given the above details. Should i install fibreutils which would upgrade the HBA driver and would it be compatible with the firmware of the HBA. Details of the firmware of the HBAs are given above. Does HP have a compatibility matrix for my purpose?
Cheers

Re: Fibreutils support matrix
Create an account in SPOCK and you can view all the storage matrix information
http://www.hp.com/storage/spock
The new fibreutils package that works with RHEL 5.3 is in the hp-fc-enablement package located here
For Qlogic
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=3709945&prodSeriesId=1844104&prodNameId=1844105&swEnvOID=4004&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=co-69719-1
For Emulex
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&swItem=co-69655-1&jumpid=reg_R1002_USEN
I'd also suggest getting the HPDMmultipathing kit as it contains a valid multipath.conf file for HP storage products

Re: Fibreutils support matrix
Dear all,
I'm confused the OS shows that i have :
Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp. ISP2432-based 4Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express HBA (rev 02)
Fibre Channel: QLogic Corp. ISP2432-based 4Gb Fibre Channel to PCI Express HBA (rev 02)
But when i search the HP site for the details it shows me:
QLogic QMH2462 4Gb Fibre Channel HBA for c-Class BladeSystem
QLogic QMH2562 8Gb Fibre Channel HBA for c-Class BladeSystem
Is there a connection between ISP2432 and any of the above ?
Please help.

Re: Fibreutils support matrix
ISP2432 is the QLogic name for the chip that sits on the HP QMH2462 mezzanine adapter board.
