FTP

I have RH 9.0 and I'm in the process of building a server. I can ping places successfully but when i try to ftp to redhat or any other place and use anonymous/anonymous pass, i get a "421 Service not available, remote server closed, login failed. No control connection for command"... Is there something wrong with FTP that i need to correct? Thanks alot for any help!

Hi Kyle,

421 is too many users. From redhat, you'll often get this message.
Try a less used server, such as ftp://ftp.belnet.be/

Thanks! Sure enough that worked. Simple problem. I wasn't familiar with the error codes what they meant. I figured since I'm building a server and it was the first FTP attempt I made, something was wrong on my end. Thanks.
