Glibc 2.3 upgradation

Hi,
I want to upgrade the existing glibc-2.2.4-26 to glibc-2.3. After going through couple of forums I came to know that, the upgrade if done incorrectly can crash the system. I want to know if there is any proper procedure for upgrading the same.Kindly help
Sunil

Re: Glibc 2.3 upgradation

It might crash your system. It might also make it utterly unusable.

I wouldn't do this myself. I know some people have but I personally would get myself a spare disk partition. Install any distribution that has the glibc I want into that partition. Then I'd mount all my old filesystems. I would then run that linux instead.
