Solution
I'm unsure if it's applicable, but have you looked at the 'media jukebox' configuration for standard SCSI tape devices?
A quick search brought up http://cdfpc2.mps.ohio-state.edu/linux/tape/, and the use of the 'mtx' command for tape library changers.
HP's webiste list this device as compatable with Linux, so I'm picking 'mtx' is your best bet. Their previous documentation (re autochangers) suggest it's use.

One long-haired git at your service...

Re: How to install MSL5026 library in Linux
Hello Stuart;
Thanks for your help
Today i installed the "mtx" utility and
it worked very well with the tape library.
The Red Hat 7.2 Operating System recognized the two tape drives.
Best Regards;
Alexander
