How to setup SMTP Server in Debian 3.1(Sarge)

I want to send the mails from Debian Server.please Help me to configure to send the mails from my Debian server.

Bu default exim is installed and runned on debian. You can change it to postfix or sendmail if you are more familiar with them.

I need to configure only to send the mail(SMTP),I don't want to receive any mails. that means no need to POP3 configuration.which is the best one among the exim or postfix.for this I have to configure DNS?
