hpacucli logical drive extension under linux

When issuing this command

 

ctrl slot=0 ld 1 modify size=max

 

under linux, I get the warning that some OSes do not support logical drive extension, which may lead to data loss. However, I found no documentation from HP about which OS do support it....

 

My question is thus: does linux (kernel 3.2.0.4)  support logical drive extension and am I safe running this command?
