Installed a new DL380 (G4 3.6)with RHES 3 iso update 3, shipped software RHES 3. update 2 would not recognize the 6si raid controller. Installed j2sdk1.4.2_04.i586.rpm and a simple java -version command errors out with a segmentation fault. We have this same package running on many RHES 3 update 2 servers. We tried to do a fresh install of 3 update 2 adding the array driver previous to install but the install still would not recognize the disks. Does anyone have jdk 1.4.2_04 running successfully on Redhat ES 3 update 3? Thank you for your time and assistance.
Janet

Re: HPDL380-G4 running RHES 3 update 3 java problems
The server website includes a downloadable bootable cd that lets you prepare your disk array. Then you boot Red Hat and do the install.

I'd suggest the latest and greatest from java as Stuart recommends.
