i've kernel 2.4.18-27 and you?
aren't there references to 'Physical' cpus in your cpuinfo?

Roberto, I installed RH AS 2.1 Update 3.
It has (smp) kernel 2.4.9e34.

The output in my previous reply is all the output for 1 'processor' (approx. 1/4 of the whole ht-file, copied/pasted into the reply.
