IBM WebSphere Commerce v.6 installation problem
Dear All
I have RH Enterprise Linux ES4(Nahant Update 4)with kernel 2.6.9-42.EL on Compaq ProLiant DL360 with 1GB RAM and 2GB SWAP. I want to install IBM WebSphere Commerce v.6 product on it.
I do not use DNS.
The installation goes smoothly up to
the "Creating a Websphere Commerce Server Instance".
But then it begins to work like in cycle sometimes not very long sometimes very long time giving the messages about the completion various tasks but then the error
"The WebSphere Commerce instance creation has failed Check the log file (createInstanceANT.log and createInstanceANT.err.log)
in /opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer60/instances/demo/logs for details"
appears.
In the files above there are strings like:
"File:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer60/config/deployment/xml/createBaseSchema.xml:195: COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.DB2Exception:
[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL30061N The database alias or database name УRMALL was not found in the remote node SQLSTATE=08004"
or
"Error: Cannot configure the Web server.
Error: See the createInstanceANT.log file for detail.
file:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer60/config/deployment/xml/configureWebServer.xml:129:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer60/instances/demo/httplogs not found
BUILD FAILED
and then the installation stops
What are your advices?
TIA.
K.Kerry

Re: IBM WebSphere Commerce v.6 installation problem
Shalom,
This would appear to be a RTM situation.
You mention you are not using DNS. Is this important? What does the install manual say?
I think this is a complex product, based on the sheer volume of questions that reach ITRC and that following the install guide precisely would be the best way t go.
Error:
file:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer60/config/deployment/xml/configureWebServer.xml:129:/opt/IBM/WebSphere/CommerceServer60/instances/demo/httplogs
Does the file exist? If so you may have a bad install script.
