Re: Installing Fedora Linux in Porliant DL360
you need a module for the onboard Smart Array controller. The kernel module is called "cciss". Try to start the setup, switch to a console and load the module.
Rember: FC6 isn't supportet. ;) CentOS isn't supportet too, but it should run without problems. It's a complete RHEL clone.
Regards,
Patrick

Re: Installing Fedora Linux in Porliant DL360
I didn't install fedora 6 on such machine, but rhel 4 (which is older than fedora 6) is installed without problems, thus I see no reason why you can't install fedora 6 unless there's a bug of course.

Re: Installing Fedora Linux in Porliant DL360
This controller need a software on a CD to be configured first.
Then you can install Linux.
From HP site this disk is available.
Check first your scsi module version.
This link is an example:

Re: Installing Fedora Linux in Porliant DL360
The answer that worked for me was to issue the following command at the command prompt: linux isa
Then I chose all listed Compaq drivers to include cparray and cciss. I tried just the cciss but that didnt work. I also loaded a couple of adaptec scsi drivers to be sure I was covering SCSI. I'm sure you have already found a solution by now, but I just wanted to post a reply in case it helps someone else.
