Installing Secure path 3.0C on Red Hat Linux 3.0 update 4
I am trying to install Secure path for Linux 3.0C on my RX4640 running RedHAT Linux 3.0 update 4.
I've used the following command to forcefully install the secure path.We don't have the supported kernel version so i've used the --force.
rpm -ivh --force
after installation when we restarted the machine it hangs on the msg "Checking new hardware".
Then we have to remove the secure path to boot the machine.
I want you ppl to kindly suggest me what will be the workaround to install the secure path on Redhat linux update 4.0.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

You need to stay on the support matrix with Itanium servers, period, if you expect normal results.

Re: Installing Secure path 3.0C on Red Hat Linux 3.0 update 4
We have supported Kernel version for Secure Path , but when we install it Oracle 10g gave us errors on installation and Oracle recommends us to install REDHAT AS 3.0 Update 4. But after installing it, we are getting problems in installation of Secure path. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks in Advance.

Re: Installing Secure path 3.0C on Red Hat Linux 3.0 update 4
Systems are NOT required to have a previous version (V3.0, V3.0A, V3.0B, or V3.0C) of Secure Path installed, however, you will need your original distribution disk in order to perform the update to SP1.
So download the Service Pack, install and follow the instructions.
