Hi,
I am getting an IO error when I present a 4th disk to my RedHat 3.8 server.
The server is connected to an EVA5000 and already has 3 Luns presented, it also has access to an MSl6000 tape library. All seems well untill I present another LUN from the EVA.
The Lun appears in /proc/scsi/scsi, but not in Fdisk. Demesg shows
Device 08:30 not ready.
I/O error: dev 08:30, sector 0
The server has two QPA2300 HBA's, 3.03.19. Driver 7.07.04b6. I have removed one path but still get the same error.
I have attached an example of the error and the /proc/scsi/scsi file.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: IO error when presenting LUN to RH 3 update 8
Thanks,
That done the trick.
I changed the prefered path to B failover only and rescaned the bus. Fdisk seen the new lun OK. I then changed it back to no preference and rebooted the box (just because I could) and it still sees the new LUN, no errors in dmesg.
Thanks again.
