iptrace / snoop equivalents

Does RedHat Linux provide an equivalent trace facility to AIX' iptrace or Sun's snoop? If not, does anyone know of a nice lightweight facility that I can use to capture that kind of data? thx.

iptrace captures extremelly detailed information. The closest tool that you can use is tcpdump.

If you want pretty pictures there is ethereal. For a bit of analysis there is tcptrace. Not sure if the latter is on any RH media, but it should be easily found on the net.
