Is it possible to install Linux on a HP Workstation ?

Hi,

I have 2 hp Workstations apollo 735 with HP-UX 9.05 and 64 Mo RAM. I will soon have an ADSL connection and I would like to use this stations as web servers. But to do so,I would like to install linux, then I will be able to run Apache and so on, which can run under the 9.05 hp-Ux version.

So is it possible and which Linux shae I use ?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Is it possible to install Linux on a HP Workstation ?

see http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x5fb779bffde7d4118fef0090279cd0f9,00.html

I found this using the search engine 715 and linux, swapping 715 to 735 throws up some hits to so I think the answer is yes. However the best info appears to be at the puffin group mentioned in the above link so I'd make a b-line for their web site ?

Hi

According to this web page,
http://www.parisc-linux.org/hardware/supported.html
735 workstation is on the list.
We would like to know the results after you install the PA-RISC linux.

Thanks

I'd recently downloaded an ISO (palinux-0.9.3.iso) from http://mkhppa1.esiee.fr/download.html and was successful with installing it on a D220. The installation went smooth and was easy to follow.

good luck!
