J2SE

Is something wrong with this? When i try to download this file, it looks pretty odd. It's been like that for weeks. Anybody else having the same problems? Or is the file supposes to look all mumbled and foreign like that? Thanks.

Re: J2SE

Olivier- Yes, I was at that site, then clicked on 'download' for the RPM self extracting file and ran into my problem.

I could be wrong, is the download supposed to be a text document like that?

Re: J2SE

When you open the download page -locate the raw:
Linux RPM in self-extracting file (info)
then click on corresponding link under JRE column- you'll be redirected to the agreement oage -click on accept. Then on the next page click on:
Download j2re-1_4_2_02-linux-i586-rpm.bin .

you'll download the bin file.
Then run:
sh j2re-1_4_2_02-linux-i586-rpm.bin
this will extract the rpm file.
simply install it:
rpm -ivh j2re-1_4_2_02-linux-i586-rpm
