kernel: i8253 count too high

I am getting the following message many times in /var/log/messages
Jul 13 14:13:27 localhost kernel: i8253 count too high! resetting..
Jul 13 14:13:28 localhost last message repeated 35 times
Hardware=bl20p
OS=Redhat 2.4.21-15.ELsmp

This has been a kernel issue.

Two solutions if this message really bothers you :
- Update to kernel 2.4.22, which seems to integrate the patch
- Applyt the patch to your kernel. Explanations on this message reason and patch here :
