kmod failed to exec during startup
kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k block-major-8, errno = 2
The above "failed" message comes after the following message:

Re: kmod failed to exec during startup
after reading the thread # 452028 I found that i dont have /etc/inetd.conf. Although I myself did the installation, and every thing went fine.
Why I dont have /etc/inetd.conf file, although the installation was fine, and how can i have /etc/inetd.conf file, on my existing system.

Re: kmod failed to exec during startup
you might not have inetd since many distros nowadays defautlt to xinetd. Have a look around in /etc for xinetd.d and xinetd.conf.
Greetings, Martin
