Link speed configuration on RHEL 5

How can I set eth0 to Full-1000 or Auto 1000 on a DL385G5 with RHEL 5.1. permanently.

You can use ethtool. See ETHTOOL_OPTS in the interface configuration file:

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/ref-guide/s1-networkscripts-interfaces.html

Re: Link speed configuration on RHEL 5

Gigabit Ethernet should always be auto anyway, and IIRC that is the default. If the interface is coming-up as something else it suggests the other end of the link is misconfigured to a hardcoded setting.
