Linux Installation from external Drive
Hi,
Thanks for sppedy, solution driven and concise reply to all the mails I have been sending to this forum. I would like a solution to this little challenge too.
I want to install Linux on my laptop from external cdrom, possible a USB enabled external cdrom. I prefer this option because the laptop cdrom has since packed up
Thanks for your anticipated reply
Yinka

Re: Linux Installation from external Drive
Start the laptop with the device attached and powered up.
Figure out out to get into boot configuration.
There will probably be onscreen. Make sure the machine boots off of external devices or cd-rom first in the bios.
Stick the cd for your Linux in said drive.
Save the bios configuration.
Boot, and you should be in the installer.

Re: Linux Installation from external Drive
Hi,
Just select the option of Boot from CD-ROM Drive in the BIOS and insert the CD and try.
I think it should start installing it.
