Hi folks,
I just wanted to share this with you folks :) . I am just hoping it interests some you. I must warn you that it needs a relatively new browser though!
http://bellard.org/jslinux/ . Linux kernel running on an x86 vm written in java script. I bow down before the humility and brilliance of this man . He wrote the popular ffmpeg , tinyCC , qemu - a fast x86 emulator etc etc and also hold the record for calculating pi to most places using a home computer!!!. Hats off !

Solution
and now there is officially nothing anymore where linux can't run on :D
exciting times are ahead, javascript has turned into one of the most powerful languages and with the current smart phones, this power is put in the palm of your hands.
yesterday i also discovered NaClBox, which runs Dos in the browser. it uses the sandboxed x86 emulator in chrome however. but it should be possible to port this (dosbox) to javascript since linux is able to run in it.

Re: Linux on a javascript vm
hi,
Thanks!, had a look at NaClBox, it is interesting.
You might find JPC interesting as well, See : http://jpc.sourceforge.net/home_home.html . JPC is also capable of running linux. It can be used a applet or a standalone program.

PS:
I also wrote a small real mode DOS operating system clone once :P , it is not that hard :)
