Linux Redhat patching servers

How patching linux redhat servers in company and monitoring all patches?

If you're a big Company -- you can invest on Redhat Satellite.

If you're small -- RHN should do.

In betweens - you can enjoing CFENGINE and other similar tools or come up with your own scripts.

I simply download all patches using up2date and build my own repository. then configure yum to use only that repository.

that repository is an NFS mount to all servers.

This keeps me at a static place where I can use the respository to mirgrate the same patches from dev to test to production.


in short, up2date to aquire, yum to apply.
