linux riloe

Hi all

when I try to connect (https) to riloe ip address I'm notified that I haven't the licence for the grafical interface, in spite of the fact that the system (sles8 on ml350) is at runlevel 3, and X is not running.

Thanks

Re: linux riloe

You can not run graphical interface in run level 3. Start the machine init 5 level. init 5 will make it.

Re: linux riloe

Sorry

I was misunderstood.
My purpose is not to make X system working, but to access my text environment (shell) via Riloe interface

Thanks

Re: linux riloe

Are you sure you mean RILOE? No additional license is required. That is only needed on iLO.

Re: linux riloe

The standard features of the Riloe include virtual text-console. Virtual graphical console is an advanced feature of the Riloe and this feature can be turned on by using a license key (ask HP sales).

Re: linux riloe

I know that, In fact I would like to use it only to provide virtual text-console. But when I try to connect, I just can view a message about licence for graphical licence.

Re: linux riloe

Does your user have "Remote Console Access" permission? Try to connect to "Remote Console" tab -> "Remote Console" by using administrator account.

Re: linux riloe

Something to note is that Suse tends to run it's text consoles in a soft-GUI using the frame-buffer.

Try disabling that first, then trying the RILOE again. Off the top of my head however, I can't recall where that option is :) It's fairly obvious from memory.
One long-haired git at your service...
